My name is Esther.
I live with my husband and son in
Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, UK.
I first developed an interest in Reflexology
after receiving treatments in 2005
and as result, I believe this
positively affected my sub-fertility.
I am now a busy mother
to a teenager and a lively
rescue Parson Russell Terrier,
both of whom keep me on my toes.
After over 26 years working as an administrator
in the NHS,
I took a leap of faith and decided
to re-train in Reflexology

What is Reflexology?
The art of reflexology dates back over 5000 years
in Ancient Egypt, India and China.
This practice was further developed in the early 20th century,
into zone therapy whereby the body was mapped out on the feet and hands.
Today, modern reflexology is a deeply relaxing natural therapy which
uses precise finger and thumb reflexology techniques
on the feet, hands, face and ears to balance the whole-body system.
How does
reflexology work?
Reflexology works on the principle that
different points, or reflexes on the feet,
lower leg, hands and ears correspond
to the internal organs and other
structures of the body.
Stimulating these reflexes can aid
relaxation, reduce stress and tension,
aids sleep and improves mood, improves circulation, increases vitality and help
the body maintain overall
health and wellbeing.
HOT STONE REFLEXOLOGY
Hot Stone Therapy is over 2000 years old and has been used all over the world.
Volcanic basalt stones retain their heat
and cold so are ideal for stone therapy.
The heat from the stones loosens
tight muscles, it soothes and engulfs
the client in a comforting warmth.
Hot Stone Reflexology involves using the smooth heated volcanic basalt stones to massage the
lower legs, penetrating deep into the layers of the muscles and on specific reflex points on the feet.
This releases tension at a deeper level to encourage deep relaxation, cleansing of the
organs and better elimination of waste from the body. The effect of hot stone reflexology is also
believed to last longer than a standard reflexology treatment.
RELAX, REBALANCE, REVITALISE
Hot Stone reflexology feels like a luxurious and indulgent Spa treatment,
while also promoting relaxation at a deeper level to support the
healing and balancing of the body.
One stroke of the stone is equivalent to 5 strokes of the hand, penetrating
much deeper than thumb pressure - reaching around 7cm into the tissue.
The health benefits of hot stones include:
Hot Stones are not for everybody. There are some conditions where
heat is not recommended, including when there is inflammation such
as with rheumatoid arthritis, or skin conditions that can be
aggravated by moisture or heat, such as dermatitis.
Working with the hot stones over the transverse colon, descending colon, rectum, small and large intestine.
Rocking and rolling over
the sciatic loop and
lower back reflexes.
Sliding over the
lymphatic structures.
Gently rolling and circling over the reproductive reflexes.
Softly rotating into the
sacroiliac joint reflexes.
More than just a foot massage.
A spinal twist then knuckle pressure deep into the plantar tissue
to release tension.
REFLEXOLOGY for MENOPAUSE
What is the Menopause?
As reproductive hormones levels
fluctuate (oestrogen and progesterone),
menopause symptoms occur.
8 out of 10 women in the UK experience
some symptoms of the menopause from the
age of 51 (symptoms can start sooner -
premature ovarian failure).
Attitudes to the menopause are changing
and it is now recognised as a natural
process of aging, not an illness.
Holistic Therapies such as Reflexology alongside a
healthy lifestyle, is very
effective in supporting
menopausal women
by easing symptoms,
aiding relaxation
and improving mood.
Functional Reflex therapy
I am fully trained by Lorraine Senior in Functional Reflex Therapy
(FRT) and the Rainbow Relaxation Routine and I also deliver
Workshops to Parents and Carers.
FRT has been specifically created to support the emotional well-being
of children and adults with diverse needs and high levels of anxiety,
in the mainstream and special education environment
and a variety of other settings such as Care Homes.
Through the power of gentle touch and repetition when delivering the
Rainbow Relaxation Routine to the hands or feet, FRT supports the
body by reducing the stress hormone, cortisone and encourages the release
of our “happy hormone” oxytocin, thus making the therapy both calming and
enriching for the recipient.
Why use FRT?
physically and emotionally
